Malviya Nagar School Campus
Shaded outdoor learning terraces and a low-maintenance planting master plan across a four-acre school campus.
Designing for 900 children
A school landscape has to survive constant use and a maintenance budget that competes with everything else the trust funds. Every surface was chosen for durability first, and the planting palette was reduced to a small number of robust species planted in quantity.
Teaching outdoors
Three shaded terraces step off the main circulation spine, each sized for a single class. They are built from the same sandstone as the buildings so they read as part of the campus rather than as garden furniture.
Phasing
The scheme is being delivered in three phases around the academic calendar, with the tree planting front-loaded so the canopy has the longest possible head start.
